Should you buy a T-Money card, use EZL, get a WOWPASS, or choose Seoul's Climate Card?
The good news is that all of them can make traveling in Korea much easier. The best choice simply depends on where you are going, how often you will use public transportation, and whether you also need a payment card for shopping.

1. T-Money Card — The Easiest Choice for Most Travelers
If you do not want to think too much about transportation cards, T-Money is usually the safest choice.

T-Money can be purchased at major convenience stores such as CU, GS25 and 7-Eleven, as well as information centers at many Seoul subway stations.
A standard card generally costs about 3,000 to 5,000 won, not including the money you add for transportation.

When Does the Climate Card Save Money?
Imagine you spend several days sightseeing in Seoul.

Gangnam → Hotel
If you are making many trips like this every day, an unlimited Climate Card can be convenient and may save money.
You also do not have to keep checking your remaining transportation balance.
But There Is One Important Climate Card Limitation
The Climate Card does not cover every subway, bus or train in South Korea.
Its service area mainly covers Seoul transportation and certain connected sections outside Seoul. The Sinbundang Line, intercity buses, airport buses and some transportation outside the supported area are excluded.
This means you should not automatically assume that an unlimited Seoul pass works everywhere.

Can You Use the Climate Card from Incheon Airport?

There is usually no reason to buy another standard transportation card.
One More Important Tip: Always Tap When Getting Off
When riding buses in Korea, get into the habit of tapping your transportation card when you board and when you get off.
