According to the Korea Tourism Organization, foreign visitors can use social login such as Google or Apple and register an overseas credit card, making it more accessible to travelers who do not have Korean identity verification.
For many tourists, that removes one of the biggest frustrations of Korean apps.
2. Why Not Just Use Kakao T?
Kakao T is extremely common in Korea.
Many Koreans use it for taxis every day.
But for a short-term international visitor, account setup, payment registration or Korean verification requirements can sometimes make the process less convenient.
That is exactly why k.ride exists.
Korea Tourism Organization describes k.ride as a foreigner-exclusive version of Kakao T designed to make taxi booking easier for non-residents.

That does not mean every taxi ride costs ₩4,800.
Your final fare depends on:

11. Late-Night Taxis Cost More

13. Regular Taxi or International Taxi?

Do not accept transportation from someone who approaches you randomly inside the terminal and asks whether you need a taxi.

15. What If the Taxi Uses a Toll Road?

Do not automatically choose a taxi because the destination is only a few kilometers away.
26. When I Would Personally Take a Taxi
If I were visiting Seoul, I would use a taxi when:
It is after the final subway.
It is raining heavily.
I have large luggage.
I am traveling with several people.
The destination requires multiple subway and bus transfers.
