Some historic places in Korea impress you with huge palace buildings or stone walls.
Gungnamji Pond in Buyeo is different.

According to historical records, King Mu of Baekje ordered a pond to be created south of the royal palace in 634.
Water was brought to the pond through a long channel, willow trees were planted along the banks, and an artificial island was created in the center.
The Korean name Gungnamji literally refers to a pond south of the palace.
